Technical Report

Overview

This Technical Report gives guidance on the use of wood-based panels in structural applications as structural floor and roof decking on joists or structural wall sheathing on studs. It provides information on transport and delivery, inspection at site, handling, stacking, storage, moisture content, conditioning and the effects of moisture, cutting and machining, selection and installation. Compared to DIN CEN/TS 12872:2007-10, the deliverability has been changed from CEN/TS to CEN/TR. The references to requirements specified in EN 12871 were deleted since EN 12871 now contains test methods only. For multilayer solid wood panels, values of dimensional changes depending on the moisture content were added. The presentations of wall and roof constructions were indicated as basic examples and recommended expansion gaps for walls and roofs were reduced. The committee responsible for this standard is the DIN committee NA 042-02-15 AA "Holzwerkstoffe - Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 112 und ISO/TC 89" ("Wood-based panels - Mirror committee for CEN/TC 112 and ISO/TC 89").
