DIN 18065
Stairs in buildings - Terminology, measuring rules, main dimensions

Title (German)

Gebäudetreppen - Begriffe, Messregeln, Hauptmaße

Overview

The content of DIN 18065:2011-06 is improved with this Amendment. This standard specifies terms and definitions, measuring rules, main dimensions and tolerances for stairs in the building industry. This standard applies for stairs in the building industry. Retractable stairs (see DIN EN 14975), escalators/moving staircases as well as open staircases on site are excluded. This standard specifies terms and definitions, measuring rules, main dimensions and tolerances. While the terms and measurement rules generally apply to the building industry, the specifications for main dimensions and tolerances only apply to stairs in and on buildings, unless there are special provisions which contain specifications and requirements deviating from this standard for stairs. The standard applies to stairs made of any material and its combinations and to any type of construction, for example, for support bolt staircases in accordance with DIN 18069. The standard does not apply to other special fields, for example shipbuilding or mechanical engineering, as different statements can be made in standards in these special fields. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-09-86 AA "Treppen" ("Stairs") at the DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
