Construction of concrete hot cells - Part 3: Requirements of shielding windows for concrete walls with different densities

Title (German)

Errichtung von Heißen Zellen aus Beton - Teil 3: Anforderungen an Strahlenschutzfenster für Betonwände unterschiedlicher Dichte

Overview

This document specifies the design and manufacturing requirements, in particular with regard to the main dimensions, the visual quality, the shielding effect and the radiation resistance. This document applies to shielding windows for concrete shielding walls against ionizing radiation. These shielding windows are part of the basic equipment of remotely operated hot cells according to DIN 25420-1. Requirements for a type series of shielding windows for walls with a concrete density of 2,3 g/cm3 and different wall thicknesses are specified in DIN 25420-4. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 062-07-62 AA "Strahlenschutzeinrichtungen" ("Radiation protection") at DIN.
