DIN 23330
Safety marking for mines

Title (German)

Sicherheitskennzeichnung für den Bergbau

Overview

The safety marking using safety symbols for mines provides people with (mostly) language-neutral information on existing hazards, actions to be avoided or required behaviour at corresponding service points and serves the accident prevention and health protection. In particular under the conditions in underground mining, the safety statement of the safety marking shall be ensured even under weak and permanently artificial general lighting and a high risk of pollution. When using safety marking in hard coal underground mining (in hazardous areas in case of other mining applications), the electrostatic requirements for plastics operating equipment and materials for use in underground mines shall be observed. This standard specifies additional safety marking for mining not covered by DIN EN ISO 7010 and DIN 4844-2. The corresponding safety symbols are primarily used underground but also above ground. In addition, safety signs enabling a safety statement are also considered in this standard. The standard has been prepared by FABERG AA NA 008-07-01 AA "Persönliche Sicherheits- und Schutzausrüstungen" ("Personal safety and protective equipment").
