Overview

On request material numbers are issued for standard and non-standardized steel types by the European Steels Registration Office in accordance with DIN EN 10027-2. Since several steel groups are so full that no other material numbers can be issued in these steel groups, the decision was made in Technical Committee ECISS/TC "General Matters" at Germany's request to revise EN 10027-2:1992. With the intended expansion of the sequential number by 2 digits (see Clause5), future allocation of material numbers is ensured in future.
