This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 074-02-05 AA "Prüfverfahren für Tissue-Papier und Tissue-Produkte" ("Test methods for tissue paper and tissue products"). Dry colour abrasion of printed table decoration products made from tissue or nonwovens onto clothing, skin or table textiles, respectively, remains a repeated cause of serious complaints. Under this standard, the hitherto highly individual visual assessment of colour abrasion is to be replaced by a suitable measurement method in order to assess colour abrasion as an objective measurand. The method in question has been implemented by a consortium of table decoration product manufacturers and colour suppliers and has been subject to evaluation by round robin tests. Reliable measurement results and their associated reproducibility can only be obtained if all devices and auxiliaries are used as indicated and if they are in a sound condition or subjected to careful maintenance and inspection.
