Overview

This standard specifies the principles for technical drawings of wood processing. Drawings according to this standard are technical drawings for the planning and manufacture of furniture, windows and doors both for interior work, appliances, models and wooden components, also in connection with other materials, for example glass, plastics, metals, minerals. DIN 919-1 is of particular importance for the training of professionals. It has been adapted to the current state of the art, in particular in the field of CAD systems. A supplement shall no longer be published; previous contents of the supplement have been incorporated in the standard. With respect to DIN 919-1:1991-04, new board materials such as OSB, MDF and composite boards with various cores as well as new designations for types of wood and wooden materials in accordance with European Standards have been taken into account. The illustration of butt joints for coatings has been added, furthermore an extended representation of surface treatments, coatings and bonds are illustrated in Annex A. Codes for types of wood and wooden materials are compiled in Annex B. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 042-04-03 AA "Toleranzen und Zeichnungen" ("Tolerances and drawings") at DIN.
