Overview
This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the "Machinery Directive", Directive 2006/42/EC, and which apply to machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. The standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of that directive. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a "harmonized" standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive ("presumption of conformity"). This European Standard contains requirements for the types of industrial trucks specified in the scope of EN ISO 3691-6. This European Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with EN ISO 3691-6. These requirements are supplementary to those stated in EN ISO 3691-6 with the addition of following hazards: - noise emissions; - vibration; - electromagnetic compatibility (EMC); - when operating in potentially explosive atmospheres. This European Standard partially replaces the following requirements of EN ISO 3691-6: - electrical requirements. This European Standard defines supplementary requirements to EN ISO 3691-6: - brakes; - operator's seat; - protection from burning; protection against crushing, shearing and trapping; - visibility; - information for use (instruction handbook and marking). This standard contains the German version of EN 16307-6:2014 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 150 "Industrial Trucks - Safety". The national interests during its preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-22-42 AA "Sicherheit von Flurförderzeugen" ("Safety of industrial trucks") of Section "Fördertechnik" ("Materials Handling") of the DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of manufacturers and users of industrial trucks, and of the employer's liability insurance associations contributed to this standard.
