Ophthalmische Instrumente - Ophthalmometer (ISO 10343:2014); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 10343:2014
Overview
The standard DIN EN ISO 10343 specifies requirements and test methods for continuously or digitally indicating ophthalmometers. It is primarily addressed to manufacturers of such ophthalmometers. Compared to the previous edition of DIN EN ISO 10343:2009-10 a classification of ophthalmometers into two types, called "type B" and "type A" was carried out. Ophthalmometers are specified as type B, which resolution and range of measurement allow the measurement of the radii of curvature and/or curvatures of the human corneas. Ophthalmometers are specified as type A, which, besides the measurement of the radii of curvature and/or curvatures of the human corneas allow the measurement of the radii of curvature and/or curvatures of contact lenses. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-08 AA "Augenoptik" ("Ophthalmic optics"), Working Group "Ophthalmische Instrumente" ("Ophthalmic instruments") at DIN Standards Committee Optics and Precisions Mechanics (NAFuO).
