DIN EN ISO 16251-1
Acoustics - Laboratory measurement of the reduction of transmitted impact noise by floor coverings on a small floor mock-up - Part 1: Heavyweight compact floor (ISO 16251-1:2014); German version EN ISO 16251-1:2014
Akustik - Labormessung der Trittschallminderung von Deckenauflagen auf kleinflächigen Prüfdeckennachbildungen - Teil 1: Schwere Massivdecke (ISO 16251-1:2014); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 16251-1:2014
Overview
This standard specifies a laboratory measurement method to determine the improvement of impact sound insulation by a floor covering when laid on a standard concrete floor mock-up and excited by a standard tapping machine. The method is restricted to floor coverings, which transmit impact sound mainly locally into the floor, so that the area of the flooring specimen does not have an influence on the results. The effort associated with this test method is considerably reduced compared with the method described in DIN EN ISO 10140 since no test stands are required. The method therefore addresses mainly laboratories and manufacturers of floor coverings which do not have any test stand of their own. The body responsible for this standard is NA 062-02-31 AA "Schalldämmung und Schallabsorption, Messung und Bewertung" ("Sound reduction and sound absorption; Measurement and evaluation") at DIN.
