DIN EN 1242
Adhesives - Determination of isocyanate content; German version EN 1242:2013
Klebstoffe - Bestimmung des Isocyanatgehaltes; Deutsche Fassung EN 1242:2013
Overview
This European Standard specifies a method for the determination of the isocyanate content of adhesives, adhesive components and their basic constituents of the surface protection systems and related products containing free isocyanate groups. This standard differs from DIN EN 1242:2006-01 as follows: a) the foreword now includes "Safety Precautions" and "Environmental Precautions" to replace the former clause 6 "Safety"; b) a note regarding dibutyl amine (5.1) has been added; c) ethanol (5.9) has been included in the list of reagents; d) normative references have been updated; e) the standard has been editorially revised. This document (EN 1242:2013) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 193 "Adhesives", the secretariat of which is held by AENOR, Spain. Collaboration of DIN at CEN/TC 193 "Adhesives" is performed through the Plastics Standards Committee (FNK), the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) and the Timber and Furniture Standards Committee (NHM). This European Standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 054-04-06 AA "Klebstoffe - Terminologie; physikalisch-chemische Prüfungen" ("Polymeric adhesives terminology; physical and chemical testing") of FNK.
