DIN EN 16339
Ambient air - Method for the determination of the concentration of nitrogen dioxide by diffusive sampling; German version EN 16339:2013

Title (German)

Außenluft - Bestimmung der Konzentration von Stickstoffdioxid mittels Passivsammler; Deutsche Fassung EN 16339:2013

Overview

This European Standard describes the sampling of NO2 in air using diffusive sampling (tube-type sampler) followed by extraction and analysis by colorimetry or ion chromatography. It can be used for the NO2 measurement in a concentration range of approximately 3 µg/m3 to 130 µg/m3. A sample is typically collected for a period of 1 week to 4 weeks, with exposure periods depending on the design of the samplers and the concentration levels of NO2. The relative expanded uncertainty of NO2 measurements performed using these tube-type diffusive samplers can be lower than 25 % for individual measurements at yearly averages of 15 %. This standard is of interest in particular for measurement institutes, network operators and supervising authorities.
