DIN 4108-4
Thermal insulation and energy economy in buildings - Part 4: Hygrothermal design values
Wärmeschutz und Energie-Einsparung in Gebäuden - Teil 4: Wärme- und feuchteschutztechnische Bemessungswerte
Overview
This standard contains hygrothermal design values for construction materials, including factory-manufactured thermal insulating materials, windows, rooflights, glazings and masonry and other common materials for calculation of the thermal insulation and energy economy in buildings. Products are indicated with the nominal value. In addition, this standard contains conversion tables in clause 8 for fulfilment of the requirements for insulation of piping systems. It is not applicable for thermal insulating products for building equipment and industrial installations. The design values given in this standard take into consideration, amongst others, influences of the temperature, the equilibrium moisture content, and fluctuations of material properties and aging of products. Additional tabulated design values are provided in DIN EN ISO 10456. Moreover, design values can also be determined according to the specifications of building inspectorates (for instance building inspectorate approvals). The values for the water vapour diffusion resistance factors listed in this document are guideline values and may be subject to significant fluctuations. The guideline values provided in this standard or the values determined in accordance with DIN EN 12086, DIN EN 10456 or DIN EN ISO 12572 can be used. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-56-92 AA "Kennwerte und Anforderungsbedingungen" ("Characteristic values and requirements") at DIN.
