Sensitometry of screen-film systems for medical radiography - Part 10: Nominal values of speed and average gradient

Title (German)

Sensitometrie an Film-Folien-Systemen für die medizinische Radiographie - Teil 10: Nennwerte der Empfindlichkeit und des mittleren Gradienten

Overview

The standard describes how nominal values of speed and average gradient of screen-film systems for medical radiography consisting of X-ray screen, intensifying screen(s), X-ray cassette and processing systems for X-ray film shall be determined and indicated. It provides rounding-off methods. The standard is applicable to screen-film systems of radiography, including mammography. The standard assumes the use of sensitometric measurement methods in accordance with DIN ISO 9236-1 and DIN 6867-3. It is directed in particular at manufactures and suppliers of screen-film systems, but is also directed at other bodies that distribute characteristics of screen-film systems. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 080-00-06 AA "Bildgebende Systeme" ("Image acquisition systems") of the Radiology Standards Committee.
