DIN 20316
Rock drilling - Thread connections for thin-walled rotary drilling equipment - Dimensions, design

Title (German)

Gesteinsbohren - Gewindeverbindungen für dünnwandige Drehbohrgestänge - Maße, Ausführung

Overview

This standard is applicable for threads for drilling technology with thin-walled drill pipes, particularly for wireline corebarrels. In the standard, along with the general design and thread profile, the thread dimensions and tolerances of the individual thread sizes are specified. The thread connection is designed as a double shoulder thread in order to be able to transfer increased torque over a larger locating surface and to achieve increased stiffness in the connection. The thread shoulders are designed diagonally in order to decrease the specific contact pressure on the locating surface and to reduce the slope of the inner thread for expansion.
