DIN 18127
Soil, investigation and testing - Proctor-test
Baugrund, Untersuchung von Bodenproben - Proctorversuch
Overview
This standard is applicable for earthworks, foundations and road construction. The aim of the proctor test is to determine the dry density of a soil, as a function of the water content, after compaction under specified test conditions. The test serves the estimation of the soil density reached at building sites and provides a reference quantity for the evaluation of soil density available in the soil or reached at building sites. Its result indicates at which optimal water content a soil can be easily compacted in order to achieve a certain dry density. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-05-03 AA "Baugrund; Laborversuche (SpA zu CEN/TC 341/WG 6)" ("Laboratory tests on soils (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 341/WG 6)") at DIN.
