Overview
DIN EN ISO/IEC 19762-1 provides a listing of general terms and definitions used across multiple AIDC techniques as well as the basic terms that may be used by (non-specialist) users for communication with experts in the area of automatic identification and data capture techniques. The international ISO/IEC 19762 standard series is intended to facilitate international communication in information technology, specifically in the area of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC, automatic identification and data capture) techniques. The standard currently only consists of Part 1 and Part 3; however, other parts will be prepared soon. Abbreviations used within each part of DIN EN ISO/IEC 19762 and an index of all definitions used within each part of DIN EN ISO/IEC 19762 are found at the end of the relevant part. ISO/IEC 19762-1:2008 has been prepared by Subcommittee JTC 1/SC 31 Automatic Identification and Data Capture Techniques of ISO/IEC Joint Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1 "Information Technology" and has been adopted as EN ISO/IEC 19762-1 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 225 "AIDC technologies", the secretariat of which is held by NEN (Netherlands). The responsible committee at DIN is Working Committee Automatic Identification and Data Capture Technologies at the Information Technology and selected IT Applications Standards Committee (NIA).
