Railway applications - Current collection systems - Requirements for and validation of measurements of the dynamic interaction between pantograph and overhead contact line; German version EN 50317:2012
Bahnanwendungen - Stromabnahmesysteme - Anforderungen und Validierung von Messungen des dynamischen Zusammenwirkens zwischen Stromabnehmer und Oberleitung; Deutsche Fassung EN 50317:2012
Overview
Measurement of the interaction between pantograph and overhead contact line serves for the verification of safety and quality of the current collection system. Results from measurements on various current collection systems shall be comparable in order to accept components for free access to the network within Europe. Measurement values are also necessary for validation of simulation programmes and validation of other measurement systems. In order to check the suitability of current collection systems, at least the following data shall be measured: the uplift of the contact wire at the pantograph passage support; as well as the mean contact force and standard deviation of the force; or the percentage of the arcs. In addition to the measurement values the operating conditions (train speed, position, ...) shall be continuously recorded and the environmental conditions (rain, ice, temperature, wind, tunnel, ...) as well as the measuring configuration (characteristics and arrangement of the pantographs, type of current collection system, ...) shall be noted during measurement in the test report. Repeatability of the measurements and comparability of the measurement results shall be ensured by this additional information. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 351.2 "Ortsfeste Anlagen" ("Fixed installations") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
