Abstract
This book provides an overview of the theoretical background of aluminium electrolysis. The basic principles of thermochemistry, magnetism, carbon chemistry, molten salt chemistry and electrochemistry are presented in the context of aluminium smelting. The textbook is aimed at students and teachers of metallurgy and electrochemistry at college and university level, as well as those working in the aluminium industry.
