DIN EN 1717
Protection against pollution of potable water installations and general requirements of devices to prevent pollution by backflow; German version EN 1717:2000; Technical rule of the DVGW
Schutz des Trinkwassers vor Verunreinigungen in Trinkwasser-Installationen und allgemeine Anforderungen an Sicherungseinrichtungen zur Verhütung von Trinkwasserverunreinigungen durch Rückfließen; Deutsche Fassung EN 1717:2000; Technische Regel des DVGW
Overview
A significant principle of practical standardization work is finding a consensus within interested parties who are interested in a certain topic. Therefore it can be expected that the European work results do not always achieve the necessary depth of standardization needed by German users. Additional information is given either in national forewords or annexes or in separate documents. The new edition of DIN EN 1717 is the result of the fact that the information contained in the national annex NA of DIN EN 1717:2001-05 has now been transformed into normative specifications in DIN 1988-100, which have been adjusted to the state-of-the-art. Reference is made to the fact that the standard has only been modified in its national part; the text of EN 1717:2000 has not been altered. DIN EN 1717 and DIN 1988-100 shall be used together. The new edition of the standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 119-04-07 AA "Häusliche Wasserversorgung" ("Domestic water supply") of the Water Practice Standards Committee (NAW).
