Adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems - Part 2: Determination of shear strength (ISO 9311-2:2011); German version EN ISO 9311-2:2011
Klebstoffe für thermoplastische Rohrleitungssysteme - Teil 2: Bestimmung der Scherfestigkeit (ISO 9311-2:2011); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 9311-2:2011
Overview
This standard specifies a method to characterize adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems by measuring the shear strength of a bonded joint using a test specimen prepared as described. It has been prepared by CEN/TC 193 "Adhesives", the secretariat of which is held by AENOR (Spain), in collaboration with ISO/TC 138 "Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids". The standard is directed at manufacturers, test facilities, installation companies and users of thermoplastic piping systems. This document is intended to provide the user with a method to characterize adhesives for thermoplastic piping systems. The standard contains in particular aspects of quality and product safety. DIN EN ISO 9311-2 is the German version of the standard prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 138 "Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids", in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC193 "Adhesives". The committee responsible for DIN EN ISO 9311-2 is NA 054-05-03 AA "Fittings für Druckrohre aus Thermoplasten" ("Fittings for pressure pipelines made from thermoplastic materials ") at DIN.
