Railway applications - Measuring of new railway vehicles - Part 7: Measuring methods at complete bogies under compression; with CD-ROM
Bahnanwendungen - Messen von Schienenfahrzeugen beim Neubau - Teil 7: Messvorgänge am kompletten Fahrwerk im Druckstand; mit CD-ROM
Overview
This standard series has been prepared at NA 087-BR-01-01 SO "Fahrzeugvermessung" ("Vehicle measurement") of the Railway Standardisation Committee (FSF) in coordination with other Working Committees of the FSF with the participation of interested parties (approval authorities, railway undertakings, manufacturers and service persons). It shall be noted that the dimensional designations given in Part 2 and Part 3 (body of coach) are different from those given in Part 5, Part 6 and Part 7 (running gear) or Part 8 (vehicle). DIN 25043 "Railway applications - Measuring of new railway vehicles" consists of - Part 1: Measuring principles - Part 2: Measuring processes for bodies of coaches and railcars - Part 3: Measuring processes for bodies of locomotives and power heads - Part 4: Measurement and calculation of static loads effective at the interface between body and running gear - Part 5: Measuring methods at chassis for bogies of running gears - Part 6: Measuring methods at bolster/cross bar of running gear - Part 7: Measuring methods at complete bogies under compression - Part 8: Measuring processes for bodies put on running gear Measuring of vertical wheel forces on individual vehicles and train formations is not dealt with in this standard series. This is dealt with in standard series DIN EN 15654. This standard applies for railway vehicles on tracks and their bodies of coaches and running gears, in various production states, taking into consideration the regulations for application of this standard given in Annex H (transitional provisions). The European Standard series DIN EN 13775 applies for freight wagons. Railway vehicles are the following: coaches, rail cars, service coaches, power cars and locomotives which are based on a 4-point support between the body of coach and the running gear. Special cases shall be considered separately. Reference is explicitly made to the types of vehicles dealt with in the respective part of the standard. The aim is also to use the principles and dimensional designations specified in this standard for the field of maintenance in order to generally ensure a uniform, transparent and continuous system during measurement. Application of this standard for conversions shall be agreed upon between the contract partners and approval bodies. Demands which are beyond the requirements of this standard shall be agreed upon between the contract partners. The measuring methods refer to railway vehicles or their bodies of coaches and running gears or assemblies thereof. If applicable, other measuring methods not specified here are necessary which shall be agreed upon, specified or coordinated with the approval bodies, depending on the individual case. Deviations from this document and from the process are permitted if proof of equivalent safety is provided; they shall be agreed upon between the contract partners and approval bodies, however. The aim and purpose of this standard is a uniform definition of reference systems and framework conditions which are necessary within the framework of agreed product realization and maintenance of this compliant state by maintenance or repairs. It shall be established by measurements if the given function- and safety-relevant dimensions as well as their permissible deviations are met, taking into account DIN EN ISO 14253. Furthermore, the measurement serves for the respective interface verification and validation (examples: testing of mass management, indication of the reference plane, specification of the various necessary equalizing pieces, if appropriate, adjustment or testing of the body of the coach which has been positioned on running gear.). The measurement is aimed at ensuring the function of important attachments and auxiliary devices and compliance with the specified vehicle gauge line and negative influences from dimensional deviations caused by the manufacturing process on the running quality and safety against derailment. The tolerances given in this standard are maximum values which may only be exceeded upon proof of equivalent safety. For production-related implementation of the constructively specified function- and safety-relevant tolerances, the requirements of DIN EN ISO 14253 shall be taken into account both for the geometric as well as analogously for force measurements. This requires separate drawings, if applicable. The test protocol in accordance with DIN 25043-7 is provided as an Excel data sheet.
