DIN 10742
Analysis of honey - Guideline for sampling

Title (German)

Untersuchung von Honig - Leitfaden zur Probenahme

Overview

This standard deals with aspects regarding the sampling of honey. It specifies procedures which shall be taken into account during sampling; therewith it is ensured that a sufficient, representative amount of the batch concerned is available for the analysis of honey. The standard serves to ensure quality of the honey as well as product safety. Sampling is a procedure which necessitates both a suitable method as well as the use of apparatuses suitable for the task. Each analysis of the characteristics of a batch and every interpretation of the results would be useless if the sample is not representative of the lot from which it has been taken. Sampling is a procedure where great care shall be taken. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 057-05-08 AA "Honiguntersuchung" ("Analysis of honey") at DIN.
