Overview
This standard describes methods to ensure compatibility of balanced cords to be used in communication cabling systems according to ISO/IEC 11801. It specifies the test methods and associated requirements to demonstrate the performance and reliability of these cords during their operational lifetime. The responsible Committee is K 412 "Kommunikationskabel (Kabel, Leitungen, Wellenleiter, Lichtwellenleiter, Komponenten, Zubehör und Anlagentechnik für die Nachrichten- und Informationsübertragung)" ("Communication cables (Cables, wires, waveguides, optical fibres, components, accessories and systems engineering for telecommunication and transmission of information)") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
