Semiconductor converters - General requirements and line commutated converters - Part 1-1: Specification of basic requirements (IEC 60146-1-1:2009); German version EN 60146-1-1:2010
Halbleiter-Stromrichter - Allgemeine Anforderungen und netzgeführte Stromrichter - Teil 1-1: Festlegung der Grundanforderungen (IEC 60146-1-1:2009); Deutsche Fassung EN 60146-1-1:2010
Overview
This International Standard specifies requirements for performance of all electronic power converters and electronic power switches using controllable and/or non-controllable electronic valve components. The electronic valves mainly comprise semiconductor components, namely non-controllable components (for instance, power diodes) or controllable components (for instance, thyristors, triacs, turn-off thyristors and power transistors). The controllable components can be reverse blocking or reverse conducting components which are controlled by current, voltage or light. It is assumed that non-bistable components operate in switched mode. The aim of this standard is primarily the specification of requirements for line-commutated converters for conversion of alternating current power into direct current power or vice versa. Parts of this standard are also applicable for other types of electronic power converters, assuming that no individual product standards are available. These specific equipment requirements are applicable to semiconductor power converters which either implement different types of power conversion or use commutation (for instance, semiconductor self-commutated converters), which are intended for particular applications (for instance, semiconductor converters for direct current motor drives), or contain a combination of the possibilities mentioned (for instance, direct DC converters for electric rolling stock). This standard applies to all converters which are not dealt with in an individual product standard or if particular characteristics are not dealt with in the special product standard. These special product standards should refer to this International Standard. The responsible Committee is K 331 "Leistungselektronik" ("Power electronics") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Informational Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
