DIN EN 16024
Fertilizers - Determination of 1H-1,2,4-triazole in urea and in fertilizers containing urea - Method using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC); German version EN 16024:2011
Düngemittel - Bestimmung von 1H-1,2,4-Triazol in Harnstoff und harnstoffhaltigen Düngemitteln - Verfahren mit Hochleistungs-Flüssigchromatographie (HPLC); Deutsche Fassung EN 16024:2011
Overview
This European Standard has been prepared under the mandate M/418 given to CEN by the European Commission. It contains a method for the determination of 1H-1,2,4-triazole in urea or in fertilizers containing urea in the presence of dicyandiamide or methylpyrazole using high-performance liquid chromatography. The sample of fertilizer is dissolved in water or extracted with water and the triazole content is determined in the solution using an electrochemical pulsed detector (PED detector). The dicyandiamide and 3-methylpyrazole contents are determined according to DIN EN 15360 and DIN EN 15905, accordingly. The method has been validated on the European level in an inter-laboratory test with eight participating laboratories. The statistical results of this inter-laboratory test are given in the informative Annex A. The document has been prepared by CEN/TC 260 "Fertilizers and liming materials" (secretariat: DIN, Germany). National Mirror Committee is Working Committee NA 057-03-02 AA "Düngemittel" ("Fertilizers") at the NAL.
