Overview
This standard has been prepared by NA 002-00-14 AA "Beschichtungsstoffe und Beschichtungen für Luft- und Raumfahrt" ("Coatings and coating materials for aerospace") of the Coatings and Coating Materials Standards Committee (NAB), in collaboration with NA 131-02-04 AA "Oberflächenschutz" ("Surface protection") of the Aerospace Standards Committee (NL). This standard specifies the structure of the standards DIN 65046-2 to DIN 65046-6 in Tables 1 to 5. In DIN 65046-2 to DIN 65046-6, international standardized test methods for examination and test of paints and varnishes being utilized in aircraft are specified. The requirements for the as-delivered condition and processing condition and for the surface are laid down in the material specifications and/or Technical Specifications. The test methods may be applied for approval or qualification tests and also for acceptance tests. Tests in accordance with these test methods shall be carried out if they are prescribed in the Technical Specifications, material specifications or data sheets or if a reference is made to them in an order.
