DIN ISO 3442-3
Machine tools - Dimensions and geometric tests for self-centring chucks with two-piece jaws - Part 3: Power-operated chucks with serrated jaws (ISO 3442-3:2007)

Title (German)

Werkzeugmaschinen - Maße und geometrische Prüfungen für zentrierende Drehfutter mit zweiteiligen Backen - Teil 3: Kraftbetätigte Futter mit Backen mit Spitzverzahnung (ISO 3442-3:2007)

Overview

The new version of this International Standard ISO 3442-3 has been prepared by Subcommittee SC 8 "Machine Tools - Work holding spindles and chucks" of Technical Committee ISO/TC 39 "Machine Tools". Germany was involved in the preparation of this standard through Working Committee NA 121-02-07 AA "Drehmaschinenspannzeuge und Zubehör" ("Lathe chucks and accessories") of the Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee (FWS). This part of ISO 3442 specifies 90° and 60° serrations and jaw nuts suitable for 90° and 60° serrations for mounting top jaws on the base of power chucks, in order to ensure interchangeability. It also describes, with reference to ISO 230-1, the geometric tests for self-centring, power-operated chucks with two or more two-piece jaws (serrated type) and the corresponding tolerances. In reference to the geometric tests, only with the inspection of rotational accuracy of the chuck, the straightening and the centring of workpieces are dealt with.
