DIN EN 3475-812
Aerospace series - Cables, electrical, aircraft use - Test methods - Part 812: Return loss (VSWR); German and English version EN 3475-812:2009

Title (German)

Luft- und Raumfahrt - Elektrische Leitungen für Luftfahrtverwendung - Prüfverfahren - Teil 812: Rückflussdämpfung (VSWR); Deutsche und Englische Fassung EN 3475-812:2009

Overview

The standards of the EN 3475 standard series describe test methods for electrical cables for aircraft use. Part 812 specifies methods for measuring return loss (VSWR), in the required frequency bandwidth, of coaxial cables with characteristic impedance. The return loss is used for quantifying the level of the reflected signal due to the irregularity of the characteristic impedance of the cable. The standard shall be used together with EN 3475-100. This standard of the EN 3475 standard series has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-02 AA "Elektrische Leitungen" ("Electric cables") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
