Overview
This part of ISO 12567 specifies a method to measure the thermal transmittance of a door or window system. It is applicable to all effects of frames, sashes, shutters, blinds, screens, panels, door leaves and fittings. It is not applicable to: - edge effects occurring outside the perimeter of the specimen; - energy transfer due to solar radiation on the specimen; - effects of air leakage through the specimen; - roof windows and projecting products, where the glazing projects beyond the cold side wall surface of the surround panel. For roof windows and projecting units the procedure given in ISO 12567-5 can be applied. Annex A gives methods for the calculation of environmental temperatures. The standard (EN ISO 12567-1:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 163 "Thermal performance and energy use in the built environment" in cooperation with Technical Committee CEN/TC 89 "Thermal performance of buildings and building components" (secretariat: SIS, Sweden), Working Group CEN/TC 89/WG 7 "Thermal properties of doors and windows" (secretariat: DIN, Germany) with German participation. This document is submitted to the parallel final voting procedure. Regarding the German collaboration, the responsible Working Committee at DIN, the German Institute for Standardization e. V., is NA 005-56-97 AA "Transparente Bauteile" ("Transparent building elements") which has been employed as Mirror Committee for this project.
