DIN EN 15905
Fertilizers - Determination of 3-methylpyrazole (MP) using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC); German version EN 15905:2010

Title (German)

Düngemittel - Bestimmung von 3-Methylpyrazol (MP) mit Hochleistungs-Flüssigchromatographie (HPLC); Deutsche Fassung EN 15905:2010

Overview

The European Standard has been prepared under the mandate M/418 given to CEN by the European Commission. It contains a method for the determination of the 3-methylpyrazole (MP) content in fertilizers, in particular in urea and materials containing urea using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The sample of fertilizer is dissolved in water or extracted with water. The 3-methylpyrazole is determined in the solution using reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography with an UV detector. The precision of the method has been determined in 2008 in a European inter-laboratory test with 9 participating laboratories and two samples of fertilizer. The repeatability and reproducibility and other statistical data on precision are given in Clause 10 and in informative Annex A. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 260 "Fertilizers and liming materials" (secretariat: DIN). National mirror committee is Working Committee NA 057-03-02 AA "Düngemittel" ("Fertilizers") of NA.
