Health and care services
Health and care services
Health services include all services dealing not only with the diagnosis and treatment of disease, but also its prevention. They are provided by a number of different organizations such as hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centres, nursing homes, doctors' offices, and public institutions such as schools.
A wide range of health care professionals provide health services, including psychologists and psychiatrists, pharmacists, physical therapists and private nurses.
The aim of health care services is not only to cure but to generally improve and protect a person's physical, spiritual and even social well-being. Associated services include those found in the pharmaceutical industry and medical technology, as well as manufacturing (of orthopaedic aids, for example).
