Research projects Industry
Industry 4.0 has been declared a future project by the German federal government as part of its high-tech strategy and aims to interlink information, communication, automation, and production technologies even more closely in the future. The focus here is particularly on automation technology, which is intended to enable a new type of production environment with shorter product cycles as well as new forms of customer-integrated business processes. This novel form of interlinking requires unprecedented integration of systems, which can only be realized on the basis of standards. Consequently, standardization is of central importance for the success of Industry 4.0.
DIN supports numerous research projects in the field of Industry to introduce innovative solutions, new concepts and technologies into industrial practice with the help of standardisation and strengthen Germany’s position as one of the leading industrial nations.
