APPsist

CPS integrated assistance systems and Internet services for mobile and context-sensitive knowledge- and action support of the Smart Production

APPsist is one of the selected projects to be funded under the technology program "AUTONOMIK für Industrie 4.0" (English: “AUTONOMIK for Industry 4.0”). The overall objective is to strengthen Germany's leading position as a high quality production site and as a provider of advanced production technologies.

Manufacturing companies are faced with the challenge of constantly changing to meet diverse and multiple demands worldwide. Nowadays, this can not only be achieved by cheap production sites, high process quality or technological advantage.

Customized production, while maintaining security of productivity at the highest professional level is one of the most difficult tasks in production to ensure the competitiveness of manufacturing companies today and in the future. A possible solution for this is the more flexible automation of production. However, this increased flexibility leads to a steady increase in the complexity of the operation and maintenance as well as in the control of production processes. Since the increase of complexity was also associated with a reduction of staff, need for information and necessary professional expertise of the employees is growing rapidly.

APPsist therefore aims at the development, validation and exemplary implementation of a holistic and in cyber-physical production systems integrated software solution taking into account the socio-technical design perspective. The APPsist solution is to enable intelligent, cooperative, and self-organized interactions between staff and technical operation systems along the supply chain and make it transparent.
