PAiCE
The funding and technology programme PAiCE (Platforms | Additive Manufacturing | Imaging | Communication | Engineering) – “Digital technologies for the economy” of the Bundesministerien für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) supports research activities within Industrie 4.0. A particular focus is placed on product engineering, logistics, service robotics, industrial 3D applications and industrial communication, with the goal of securing Germany’s position as a production location and provider of the most advanced production technologies. 17 associations from the areas of science and industry have qualified to take part and will be supported in their research efforts through concomitant research. The German Institute for Standardization (DIN e.v) is one of the partners of the concomitant research. As such, DIN will consult with the participating projects on all questions and issues relating to standardization, and identify a tailored solution for the respective project. These solutions are comprised of research into topic and project-specific standards, and also identify opportunities for incorporating standardization activities into the respective project. DIN analyses the standardization potential of each research activity and supports the projects in preparing ideas for possible standards or technical rules.
Concomitant research of DIN
- individual consultations with the participating projects for all questions and challenges related to standardization
- topic-based and project-relevant research into standards and technical rules
- identification of relevant standardization activities on a national, European and international level
- analyses of project-specific standardization needs and potential
- support in preparing ideas for possible standards or technical rules
