Research projects

Transfer of research results through standardization – works better with DIN!

In research projects, especially if they are publicly funded, an effective, economic usability of the research results is particularly important.

Based on many years of experience gained through participation in national (funded by the German federal ministries BMWK, BMDV, BMBF, among others) and European research projects (funded by Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020), DIN offers support for research projects to optimally promote market transfer and dissemination of innovative results from research and development through standardization.

As a partner in research projects, DIN performs the following tasks, among others:

  • Advice on your questions regarding standardization
  • Identification of relevant standards, affected standardization committees and current ongoing standardization activities according to your thematic focus
  • Evaluation of the essential standardization potentials based on the results of your project
  • Development of a standardization strategy for the optimal utilization of your project results
  • Contribution of your results to ongoing standardization activities or initiation of your own standardization activities (e.g. DIN SPEC or CWA (CEN Workshop Agreement)

Involving DIN as early as the application phase of your research project makes sense as it ensures that standardization is taken into account at an early stage. This is also increasingly considered and recognized by evaluators.
