Brief description

International research groups and plant manufacturers are currently participating in the scientific discourse on biological methanation. However, due to the interdisciplinary nature of the field and the fact that the technology is still in its infancy, there is currently no standardized system for comparability with regard to measurement and detection methods or the specification and designation of system parameters. One example of this is the methane formation rate, for which more than 20 different published unit specifications were found in a literature search.
