Natural gas is a natural product with a fluctuating energy content and is increasingly being supplemented by regeneratively produced gases. The calorific value describes the energy content that is released as heat during the combustion of a cubic meter of gas under defined conditions. This part of DVGW Code of Practice G 685 describes how to determine the feed-in and billing calorific values. This part is aimed at network operators who are responsible for determining the billing calorific values for the billing period.
