Brief description

This technical regulation applies to the planning, manufacture, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, decommissioning and disposal of gas pressure regulating stations for a design pressure of up to and including 100 bar1) in gas transportation and distribution systems, as well as for systems for supplying trade, industry or comparable facilities. These systems are operated with gases in accordance with DVGW worksheets G 260 and G 262 or DIN EN 16726 and DIN EN 16723-1 with the exception of liquefied gas2) (3rd gas family). DVGW Code of Practice G 495 also applies to the operation and maintenance of gas pressure regulating stations in operation, also in combination with systems for measuring gas quantities. This Code of Practice is a more detailed technical rule within the scope of DIN EN 12186.
