Standards and specifications related to the Circular Economy ensure clear communication between market participants and increase the social acceptance of products as well as the associated economic efficiency. Standardization has always played a key role in the establishment of new technologies and business models, as is to be expected in particular in the transformation to the Circular Economy and has also been named in the EU's Green Deal (Circular Economy Action Plan 2020). It often forms the basis for companies to be able to operate in a truly sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
