Overview
This document (EN ISO 11876:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 119 "Powder metallurgy", in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC SS M11 "Pulvermetallurgie" ("Powder metallurgy"), the secretariat of which is held by CEN. The responsible German Committee is Working Committee NA 145-01-02 AA "Probenahme und Prüfverfahren für Pulver (einschließlich Pulver für Hartmetalle)" ("Sampling and testing methods for powders (including powders for hardmetals)") of the Technology of Materials Standards Committee (NWT). This document specifies methods for measuring the extent to which a metallic powder is compacted when subjected to uniaxial compressive loading in a confining die under specified conditions. The method is not applicable to powders for hardmetals. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN ISO 3927:2002-04: a) specifications relating to the dimensions of cylindrical and rectangular dies have been formulated as a recommendation in 4.1, in accordance with reference version ISO 3927:2010; b) in 6.2.1, item b), the reference has been corrected to read 6.3.2 instead of 6.3.1; c) in 6.2.1, item c), the reference has been corrected to read 6.3.3 instead of 6.3.2; d) in subclause 6.2.2, item b), the reference has been corrected to read 6.3.3 instead of 6.3.2; e) the content of DIN EN ISO 3927, Corrigendum 1:2009-07, has been incorporated in the current version of DIN EN ISO 3927, that means, in clause 8, footnote 1 has been deleted and a new subclause relating to precision data has been included; f) the standard has been editorially revised.
