This committee is responsible for the standardization, among other things, of methods for testing according to the heat treatment, determination of the depth and porosity of the compound layer of nitrided and nitro-carburized ferrous parts, determination and verification of the depth of carburized and hardened cases, determination and verification of the depth of nitrided cases, determination and verification of the depth of surface hardened cases and determination of end quench test (Jominytest).
