Overview
Cable glands according to this standard are used if, in addition to heavy mechanical loads, flooding (IPX8) or strong water jets (IPX6) are to be expected at the installation location. This is to be expected, for example, in the outdoor area of watercraft. In addition to the mechanical requirements, the standard only contains specifications for the main and overall dimensions. No specifications have been made for the individual parts (internal parts) of the screw connection. This gives the manufacturer greater design freedom. The user shall assume that individual parts from different manufacturers cannot be combined with each other.
