DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology

Overview

Eye plates according to this standard are used on ship-to-shore gangways for floating equipment of the Deutsche Marine (German Navy) and are part of the ship-to-shore gangways. They serve as fixing points for the railing ropes (handrails and in-between rails), as lashing points when securing ship-to-shore gangways in their working positions and as anchor points for the hoisting gear. The designs and the materials to be used are specified in this standard in order to ensure interchangeability.
