Overview
This standard provides an overview over the various constructions of fibre ropes and specifies general characteristics of the fibre ropes and their constituent materials. It also gives general specifications on the marking, storage, handling and tests and provides an overview over the most frequent defects and their elimination. Furthermore the standard provides an overview over fibre ropes which are currently being standardized by ISO.
