AutoID systems for the digital identification and classification of PPE - Part 1: Numbering structure, with CD-ROM
Auto-ID-Systeme zur digitalen Kennzeichnung und Klassifizierung von PSA - Teil 1: Nummernstruktur, mit CD-ROM
Overview
This part of DIN 19426 specifies the digital number structure for unique and systematic identification and clear classification of PPE in the commercial sector. Coding PPE according to this structure is a prerequisite for automatic recording and unambiguous identification of PPE using Auto-ID systems. The focus of this standard is based on the RFID Auto-ID system. The number structure developed is also compatible with other Auto-ID technologies, such as 2D barcodes (such as Data Matrix). This standard also applies to these Auto-ID technologies. Combined PPE may have to be equipped with several markings. Products already marked with Auto-ID technology are not currently covered by the requirements of this standard. Coding according to this standard does not release the manufacturer from the legal obligations to mark the relevant products. This standard deals in particular with aspects of occupational health and safety. Committee NA 075 BR-01 SO "RFID bei PSA" ("RFID with PPE") at DIN is responsible for this standard.
