Overview
This standard serves as the basis for placing protective gloves against chemicals on the market in accordance with Directive 89/686/EEC for personal protective equipment. This shall specify a uniform safety level. Potential users of this standard are test institutes, certification bodies and manufacturers. This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directives. This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 162 "Protective clothing including hand and arm protection and lifejackets", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 075-05-08 AA "Handschutz" ("Protective gloves") at the Personal Protective Equipment Standards Committee (NPS) at DIN.
