Overview
VG 85605-4 specifies the design and tests for fire-resistant hoses and hose assemblies up to PN 16 for diesel fuels, oils, fresh cooling water and seawater. This standard applies in conjunction with VG 85605-3 for fire resistant hoses and hose assemblies used on vessels and, due to the nominal pressure, to a limited extent on submarines. As a prerequisite for the supply of hoses and hose assemblies according to this standard to the Bundeswehr the hose/hose assembly manufacturer shall obtain qualification approval from the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw). This VG standard documents the technical requirements, general technical-organizational requirements such as, for example, approval, test certificates as well as technical requirements. In Table 1, Requirement - Test, the requirement and associated test (including extensive remarks and comments) were listed in detail. Requirements include, among other things, structure, dimensions, compressive strength and deformation, media resistance, permeation rate, electrical resistance, fire resistance, materials, marking and also working life. Furthermore, the requirements for quality assurance and quality inspection were documented. In Annex A (normative) samples/documents for test certificates/manufacturer's certificates of compliance are made available to the user. An overview of fittings has been included in Annex C (informative). This standard has been prepared by the DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT), Working Committee NA 132-02-07 AA "Betankungs- und Pipelineschläuche" ("Tubes for refuelling and pipelines").
