Lubricants - Lubricating oils - Part 2: Lubricating oils CL, Minimum requirements
Schmierstoffe - Schmieröle - Teil 2: Schmieröle CL, Mindestanforderungen
Overview
This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-06-51 AA "Anforderungen an Schmieröle und sonstige Öle" ("Requirements for lubricating and other oils") at the Fachausschuss Mineralöl- und Brennstoffnormung (FAM) (Standardization Committee for petroleum, fuels, lubricants and related products (FAM)) of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP) at DIN. This document specifies the minimum requirements for lubricating oils CL. Lubricating oils CL are predominantly recommended for circular lubrication if the requirements for ageing resistance and or corrosion protection are higher than the requirements for lubricating oils C in accordance with DIN 51517-1. Lubricating oils CL can also be used as hydraulic oils and general lubricating or machine oils. Lubricating oils CL are recommended if, for example, corrosion could occur due to the influence of water or if this would result in much to short usage times at high lubricating oil temperatures with lubricating oils C in accordance with DIN 51517-1. Regarding higher requirements for wear protection in the friction points, lubricating oils CLP in accordance with DIN 51517-3 shall be preferred. When used as lubricants for machine tools, DIN 8659-2 shall also be taken into account.
