Overview
The document contains rules for design of radioisotope laboratories. With regard to the statutory and employers' liability association regulations to be considered, the provisions of the Strahlenschutzverordnung (the German Radiation Protection Act) (StrlSchV), building inspectorate regulations, the Workplace Ordinance, accident protection regulations and the Hazardous Materials Ordinance shall be referred to specifically. For the constructional design of radioisotope laboratories and special rooms necessitated by function, this document compiles rules which are to serve as a guideline for the planner, builder, operator, assessor and authorities. Equipment and activities with unsealed radioactive substances in radioisotope laboratories are mentioned in this document only when they are required to be taken into consideration during the design of the laboratory. The principles for the preparation of radiation protection rules are provided in DIN 25425-4.
